Speightstown got his second graded stakes winner of the month on Saturday when Yorkton cruised to a 5 1/4-length win in the $143,000 Bold Venture S. (G3) at Woodbine.
Yorkton, who had a trio of listed stakes victories prior to Saturday, upped his earnings to $364,724 for owner/breeder Chiefswood Stable.
Yorkton was off just a beat slow, but immediately responded at put himself in the lead in just a few strides. Setting all the pace, the 4-year-old rolled through a half-mile in :45.49 and kept pouring it on, widening at will in the stretch to get the 6 1/2-furlongs in 1:15.05, less than a second off the track record.
Yorkton, out of Sunday Affair, hails from the same family as Hall of Famer Sky Beauty and Grade 1 winner Dayjur.
