WinStar Duo Head First-Crop Sire List

WinStar Farm finds themselves in the enviable position of standing the two leading first-crop sires in Bluegrass Cat and Sharp Humor.
The regally bred Bluegrass Cat tops the list in both earnings ($186,585) and winners (6). The homebred son of Storm Cat is represented by Stakes placed Speed Demon as well as impressive MdSpWt graduates Bluegrass Phenom (Keeneland), Blue Orleans (Churchill), Blue Right By (Churchill) and Another Silver Oak (Delaware).
The WinStar-raced colt retired with career earnings of better than 1.7M, which included wins in both the Haskell Invitational (Gr.1) and Remsen Stakes (Gr.2) as well as seconds in the Kentucky Derby (Gr.1), Belmont Stakes (Gr.1) and Travers (Gr.1). Bluegrass Cat has so far met all expectations one might have of a colt with such an outstanding pedigree and race record.

Though his racing career was cut short due to an injury in the Kentucky Derby, WinStar believed strongly in the raw ability and sheer class of Distorted Humor’s son Sharp Humor.
Like his sire before him, the Sharp Humor juveniles have come out running! They are led by the Graded Stakes placed Maiden-yes, maiden, Tiz My Time. The Kenny McPeek trained filly bounced into Royal Ascot off a pair of runner-up finishes in some highly-rated Maiden races and she showed her class finishing third in the Albany Stakes (Gr.3) in her first start on turf.
Brickyard Fast and Devilish Stunt both had run on their minds, dominating their fields by 10 lengths and 6 lengths respectively in MdSpWt events.
Sharp Humor himself had that lethal combination of brilliant speed and great disposition and there are already signs that he is passing these traits along to his progeny.
