Sirenusa ran her record to a perfect 3-for-3 three with a three-length score in the Northbound Pride Oaks on Memorial Day at Canterbury Park.
The 3-year-old Tiznow filly had previously won her turf debut March 17 at Fair Grounds, then a Keeneland turf allowance on April 22. Monday’s win upped her earnings to $98,400 for owners Barry and Joni Butzow.
The dark bay filly is Tiznow’s 70th lifetime stakes winner and one of his 11th stakes horses this year.
Content to sit fourth just off the leaders through the first six furlongs, Sirenusa was given her cue in upper stretch, and responded willingly to take the lead in mid-stretch, then draw off for the win under a hand ride.
The winner is out of Spun Silver, whose siblings include Haskell Inv. (G1) winner Roman Ruler, Cigar Mile (G1) winner El Corredor, and graded stakes winner Silver Tornado. Sirenusa was bred in Kentucky by Richard and Connie Snyder.
