Tripolina stormed down the Woodbine stretch to score a 2 ¾-length win in Sunday’s $125,000 Display S. to become the newest stakes winner for Constitution.
The 2-year-old filly was making her stakes debut two months after winning her first career start in a maiden special weight race over the same track. She was in quite a bit of traffic in the early stages of the seven-furlong Display, and found herself seventh of eight going into the turn. She commenced a four-wide rally and came into the stretch full run, flying past the field and drawing off late to finish in 1:21.81.
“We kind of looked at the race set up,” said trainer Kevin Attard. “We thought this filly here suited this race best. It just worked out like we planned.”
Tripolina has earned $87,031 in her two starts for X-Men Racing 3, Madaket Stables LLC and SF Racing LLC. Tripolina was bred by WinStar Farm and is out of Ballykiss, making her a half-sister to four-time stakes winner Miss J McKay.
Constitution is the sire of 55 worldwide stakes winners lifetime. In 2023, he leads all Fifth-Crop sires with 11 stakes winners and 23 stakes horses. WinStar recently announced his 2024 fee at $110,000 S&N.
