Overanalyze, far and away the leading First-Crop Sire of 2017, got his first stakes winner, as well as his first Grade 1 horse, on September 2nd.
Suzette, a 2-year-old filly, crushed her competition with a 14-length win in the $50,000 Bird of Pay S. at Northlands Park in Canada. The chestnut filly is owned by Brad Augur and Don Danard and was bred in Kentucky by 3480 Equine LLC. She is the first foal out of Ann Bird Rulez, who is a half-sister to graded stakes winner Footprint.
Earlier in the day at Del Mar, Overanalyze’s Piedi Bianchi was beaten just a half-length by the highly regarded Moonshine Memories in the $300,000 Del Mar Debutante (G1). The gray or roan filly was making her stakes debut following her maiden special weight win over the same track on Aug. 12.
Overanalyze now has four stakes horses from his first crop, and will be represented by Pschycoanalyze in Monday’s $350,000 Hopeful S. (G1) at Saratoga. The WinStar stallion’s 17 first-crop winners is six more than any other freshman sire of 2017.
