World Tour split horses on the turn then reeled in the pacesetter in mid-stretch to score a one-length maiden special weight win on Feb. 18 at Gulfstream Park.
The 3-year-old filly is the ninth winner this year for Tourist, which ranks second in the 2021 Second-Crop sire list.
World Tour got a good stalking trip in the one-mile race, tracking in fifth through the early fractions before making her move going into the final turn. After going between horses, she went outside and past Unshakable U to win under a hand ride in 1:35.81 on the “good” turf.
The winner was bred by St. Simon Place and Scott Stephens and sold to WinStar Stablemates Racing LLC for $130,000 at the 2020 OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds last June.
