Indy Tourist turned in the best performance of the day on Monday when the 2-year-old Tourist colt galloped to what was officially a 15 3/4-length maiden special weight victory at Indiana Grand.
The bay colt is Tourist’s second winner from his first crop, with his next starter coming on Tuesday in a maiden special weight at Lone Star Park.
Indy Tourist, in post eight in the one-mile turf contest, broke alertly and had a half-length lead in the first quarter-mile. He widened his lead as he passed each pole and was on top by 10 lengths entering the stretch and was geared down late to win in dominating fashion.
Indy Tourist is owned Paradise Farms Corp., David Staudacher, Golden Goose Stable LLC & Angelo Carlesimo and was bred in Kentucky by Ralph Kinder. His dam Indy Sue is out of the stakes winner and track record-setter Debbie Sue.
