Tiznow colt prevails in Delp Memorial S.

Tiz’naz bested Joint Custody by three-quarters of a length in Wednesday’s $50,000 Grover Buddy Delp Memorial S. at Delaware Park to give the 3-year-old Tiznow colt his first stakes win, and third victory overall, in five lifetime starts (VIDEO).

Tiz’naz, owned by Main Line Racing Stable and trained by John Servis, was locked in a duel with Joint Custody virtually the entire 1 mile and 70 yard trip. There was never more than a half-length separating the pair until deep stretch, when Tiz’naz edged clear to claim the top prize.

The final time was a solid 1:41.11 on a fast track.

Tiz’naz is now 3-0-1 in five outings, with a bankroll of $73,020. Bred in Kentucky by Spendthrift Farm, the colt is out of a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner Just Jenda.

Top-10 sire Tiznow’s list of stakes winners in 2014 now stands at five, and his 21 repeat winners ranks second on the General Sire list.
