Super Saver’s winners list grows to eight

Leading freshman sire Super Saver chalked up his eighth winner from his first crop on Aug. 21 when Lil Super Bear scored a ¾-length maiden special weight victory going 5 ½-furlongs at Remington Park (VIDEO).

The chestnut filly was bred by WinStar Farm and is owned by the Gerald Dixon Revocable Trust, who bought her for $85,000 out of this April’s OBS Spring 2-year-old sale.

Super Saver’s 2-year-olds have racked up $581,879 to date, nearly $200,000 more than any other first-year sire. His runners have been particularly stellar at Saratoga, with Competitive Edge and High Dollar Woman both posting a meet-high 2-year-old Beyer Speed figure of 90 for their sex. He is also the sire of Grade 2 Saratoga Special winner I Spent It.
