Speightstown’s Rock Fall crushes foes in True North S. (G2)

Rock Fall earned his fifth straight victory and first graded stakes win June 5, taking the $250,000 True North S. (G2) at Belmont Park by 3 ¾-lengths. He is Speightstown’s fifth graded stakes winner of 2015 and pushed the Top-10 sire over the $4 million mark in progeny earnings for the year.

After an early duel, Rock Fall seized command after a half-mile and after taking his cue from Javier Castellano, put away Eastwood and drew off for the easy win. The final time was a sparkling 1:08.37 for the six furlongs on the fast main track.

Since losing his maiden debut, Rock Fall has been unbeatable, reeling off three allowance victories along with a maiden-breaking score. The dark bay or brown colt improved his record to five wins from six starts with earnings of $299,180.

Rock Fall was a $250,000 buy at the 2012 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Yearling sale, where he was bought by Stonestreet Stables. He is the first foal out of Renda, a two-time stakes winner of $160,593. Rock Fall was bred in Kentucky by SF Bloodstock LLC.
