More Than Ready’s super-filly Rushing Fall remained undefeated at Keeneland with a front-running score in Saturday’s $350,000 Jenny Wiley S. (G1) and is just a neck away from having a perfect record in eight lifetime starts, all graded stakes except for her maiden debut victory.
With wins during the 2017 Fall Meet in the Jessamine (G3) and 2018 Appalachian (G2) and Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup (G1), Rushing Fall is one of just three horses that have four stakes victories at Keeneland, joining champions Wise Dan and Take Charge Lady.
Off since winning the QE II last October, Rushing Fall sprung quickly out of the gate Saturday to grab the lead. Setting sensible fractions of :23.81, :48.41, and 1:13.62, the 4-year-old had plenty left to hold off stablemate Rymska (FR) by a length in 1:42.77 for the 1 1/16-mile on the firm turf.
“This filly, she’s so nice – the way she broke out of the gate, the way she relaxed,” winning rider Javier Castellano said of Rushing Fall. “I just enjoyed the ride. She (got) tired, but just a little bit. But she finished strong and did it very easy.”
With six graded wins, including three Grade 1’s, Rushing Fall has earned $1,581,000 for eFive Racing Thoroughbreds and trainer Chad Brown. She was bred in Kentucky by Fred Hetrich III and John Fielding and sold for $320,000 at the 2016 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Yearlings sale.
Rushing Fall is one of More Than Ready’s 12 millionaires worldwide. The sire of nearly 200 black type winners lifetime, More Than Ready already has seven graded performers in 2019.
