Esterina won her debut in style on Aug. 6 at Delaware Park to become Revolutionary’s second winner from his first crop.
Going five furlongs, Esterina stalked the early pace before mounting a challenge midway on the turn. Swedenborg was stubborn, but Esterina forged to the front inside the final furlong and drew away late to win by 1 1/4-lengths.
The winner is owned by Felix Susi LLC and was bred by Donald Dean. Esterina’s dam Brief Encounter previously produced three winners, including the multiple stakes-placed Chorus Line.
Revolutionary’s first winner, Maiden Beauty, won the $100,000 Lynbrook S. at Belmont Park in her career debut.
