WinStar Farm’s Pioneerof the Nile topped nearly every category on the 2015 Third Crop Sire list, with the brilliant Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) winner American Pharoah bolstering his sire’s progeny earnings to a remarkable $11,583,382.
American Pharoah’s incredible campaign wasn’t the only highlight of the year by any means for his sire. Pioneerof the Nile’s list-leading six graded stakes winners included Midnight Storm, who took the Seabiscuit H. (G2) at Del Mar, Bangalore Oaks (G2) winner Athens, and $200,000 Centaur S. winner Courtier.
Pioneerof the Nile also led the list by black type winners (7), black type horses (12), and Grade 1 horses (3). He will stand the 2016 season at WinStar for $125,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
