Positivity passed his first stakes test Sunday at Del Mar with a stirring half-length victory over Good With People in the $100,000 Graduation S.
The 2-year-old Paynter colt had won his May 22 debut by 3 1/4-lengths and has now earned $87,000 for C T R Stables.
In third on the outside for most of the 5 1/2-furlong trip, Positivity kicked into high gear in deep stretch to roll by Good With People in the final strides.
“We had a nice stalking trip. Then when we got to running, I knew I’d catch that horse up front,” said winning rider Drayden Van Dyke.
Positivity was bred by Allen Farm, LLC and is Paynter’s fifth stakes winner of 2020. The WinStar stallion leads the Fourth-Crop sire list in several categories, including stakes winners, stakes horses, winners, and progeny earnings, with over $3 million.
