Nanoosh scored his third straight win with a thrilling score in the Nov. 21 Zia Park Derby, running down Air Strike in the final furlong to give the 3-year-old Paynter colt his first stakes victory.
Nanoosh, a Zayat Stables homebred, is undefeated in 2018 and is 4-0-0 in seven lifetime starts, with earnings of $217,696. He is the fifth stakes winner this year for Paynter, who currently ranks third on the Second-Crop Sire list with $3.4 million in progeny earnings.
On or near the lead the entire way, Nanoosh finally got past a stubborn Air Strike to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:41.96 for the 1 1/16-miles on a fast main track.
