Breeze Rider drew off in the stretch to tally a 4 ¾-length victory in the $100,000 My Charmer S. on Saturday evening at Turfway Park.
The 4-year-old Paynter filly, who was making her first start over a synthetic surface, won the Joseph Peluso Memorial S. at Fair Grounds just a little over two weeks ago. She now has an impressive 11 wins and 3 seconds in 24 lifetime outings, with earnings of $349,428.
Breeze Rider set the tone from the start of the 1 1/16-mile My Charmer. She went to the front and set leisurely fractions of :50.46 for the half-mile and 1:13.84 for six furlongs. When called on at the top of the stretch, Breeze Rider bounded away from the field to win as much the best in 1:44.16.
Breeze Rider races in the colors of the Mike Piazza Racing Stable LLC and was bred in Kentucky by Patrick and Brittney Durtschi. Breeze Rider is out of the stakes winner Dancing Raven, whose siblings include millionaire and multiple graded winner Uncaptured.
Breeze Rider is one of nine stakes winners this year by top-10 General Sire Paynter. His Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) winner is almost certain to be named the 2021 Horse of the Year.
