A Bit of Both rocketed out of the gate and dispatched Saint Moon at the top of the stretch to draw off to a 3 1/2-length win in the $125,000 OBS Filly & Mare Sprint S. on the special Nov. 26 card at the central Florida track.
The 3-year-old filly, who won a pair of stakes during a four-race winning streak earlier this year, has now won seven of her nine lifetime starts for her breeders Darsan Inc. and Winstar Farm, LLC, who own the filly along with Michael Dubb and Madaket Stables, LLC.
A Bit of Both dueled through the first half-mile with Saint Moon, then cleared off in upper stretch and was never threatened by the distant runner-up, Caramel Martini. The final time on the synthetic surface was 1:10.92.
A Bit of Both is now a three-time stakes winner of $289,310. She is the second foal out of Lizzie K, who is a sister to Grey S. (G3) winner Globetrotter and black type winner Slew’s Exchange.
As he was with his first two crops, Paynter is a top-five Third-Crop sire this year in several categories, including by winners (98), stakes wins (7), progeny earnings ($5,374,663), and stakes horses (11). His 2020 fee is $10,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
