Outwork made a big splash with his lone offering at Wednesday’s Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream sale when a colt by the WinStar stallion brought a top bid of $475,000.
Consigned by Scanlon Training and Sales on behalf of Excel Bloodstock, hip No. 10 went to the powerhouse partnership of Mike Repole, St. Elias Stable, and West Point Stables.
Bred by WinStar, the bay youngster hails from the stakes-placed mare Say’s Who, the family of Grade 1 winners Came Home, Marleybone and Stephanotis.
Outwork, whose 3-year-old colt Outadore won Saturday’s Animal Kingdom S. at Turfway Park, is currently a top-10 Second-Crop sire and leads the list by black-type horses with five to date this year. His 2021 2-year-old sales average is more than 12 times his current stud fee.
