Ms Peintour, a 2-year-old Paynter filly making her racing debut, looked like a filly with a big future following her nearly seven-length victory in a 7 1/2-furlong maiden special weight affair Dec. 2 at Gulfstream Park.
The bay filly is Paynter’s 10th winner from his first crop of runners. The WinStar stallion is ranked in the top 10 on the Freshman Sire list with over $600,000 in progeny earnings and four stakes horses to date. He’ll stand the 2018 season for $12,500 stands and nurses.
Ms Peintour was in contention the entire way on Saturday. She took over the lead with about a half-mile to run, and really opened up at the top of the stretch, showing tremendous turn of foot to win with authority.
The winner is owned by Tim Mawhinney and bred by Bill & Phyllis Adair and Connie Brown. Ms Peintour is out of two-time stakes winner Dyna’s Destiny.
