Ready A.P. rolled to a 8 1/4-length maiden special weight win in her July 1 debut at Belmont Park to become the latest TDN Rising Star for More Than Ready.
More Than Ready is among the all-time leading sires of Rising Stars, with 15 to date. Among his standouts are the incomparable champion Rushing Fall, multiple Grade 1 winner Verrazano, and Saratoga Special (G2) winner Copper Bullet.
Ready A.P., owned by West Point Thoroughbreds and Jimmy Kahig LLC, was last early in the 5 1/2-furlong affair, but soon found her footing and rolled past horses on the turn, taking the lead at the top of the stretch. In hand through the lane, she opened up at will and won eased up (VIDEO).
A $125,000 buy at the 2020 Fasig-Tipton Select Yearlings Showcase sale, Ready A.P. was bred by Chester and Mary Broman. She is a daughter of Girlaboutown, whose dam Carmandia was a two-time Grade 2 winner.
