More Than Ready filly cruises in $100,000 License Fee S.

Zindaya made all the pace in Friday’s License Fee S. at Belmont Park en route to a 2 ¾-length victory, the first black-type win for the 4-year-old daughter of More Than Ready.  The WinStar stallion now has 80 North American stakes winners and 147 worldwide.

Breaking from the inside, Zindaya immediately was hustled to the lead by Manny Franco and was up a length after a quarter mile in :22.62 seconds. The dark bay filly had things her own way from then on, coming home to hit the wire in 1:09.64 for six furlongs on the firm turf.

“She’s a nice filly; she was unlucky at Gulfstream and she won very well today,” said winning trainer Christophe Clement. “Manny gave us a great ride so I’m delighted. She belongs to Regis Farm, a new owner and I’m delighted to do well for them and aim for the long term so it’s exciting.”

Clement was referring to Zindaya’s fifth-place finish in a Gulfstream allowance on April 2, her only out of the money finish in eight lifetime starts. She is now 3-2-2 and has earned $196,740.

Bred in Kentucky by Grapestock LLC, Zindaya is out of Aristocratic Lady and is a half-sister to Jamaica H. (G1) winner Western Aristocrat.
