More Than Ready colt best in Chantilly G3

More Than Ready now has graded stakes winners on three continents after Dalwari scored in the Group 3 Prix de Guiche Tuesday at Chantilly Racecourse in France. More Than Ready is also the sire of Wood Memorial (G1) winner Verrazano and New Zealand Oaks (G1) winner More Than Sacred.

Three-year-old Dalwari, an Aga Khan homebred trained by Jean-Claude Rouget was making his stakes debut in the Guiche. The winner had enjoyed the perfect trip throughout the contest, tracking the pace set by Spiritjim (FR ) before taking command with 2 1/2 furlongs remaining and comfortably holding Mshawish by 1 3/4-lengths to get the 1 1/8 miles in 1:51.74 on a “good” turf course.

Dalwari has won two of three starts and earned $73,864. The Guiche, which has been run since 1865, serves as a prep for $2 million Prix du Jockey Club (G1, called the French Derby) run in early June.

More Than Ready now has sired 120 stakes winners worldwide, second best among all active North American sires. He ranks among the top 10 Leading Sires in North America this year.
