Artie Schiller’s veteran turf stakes winner Macagone took the second straight running of Aqueduct’s $100,000 Danger’s Hour S. on Sunday, his third stakes win on the Aqueduct turf course.
Macagone, 6, led the entire one-mile trip, winning by 1 1/2-lengths in 1:36.13 on the yielding turf course.
“He loves Aqueduct,” said Leanna Willaford, assistant to winning trainer Bill Mott. “There was a nice little cut in the ground and the plan was to go to the lead from the start. He actually just shipped in from Florida a couple of days ago and he looks fantastic. They did a good job with him and (jockey) Kendrick (Carmouche) finished the job.”
Owned by his breeder Trinity Farm, Macagone is 8-3-5 in 26 starts and has earned $525,667.
