Love in the Air rolled to a front-running six-length victory in Monday’s $100,000 Mrs. Penny S. at Parx to become the fourth stakes winner this month for leading Fourth-Crop sire Constitution.
She is her sire’s ninth stakes winner and one of 26 black type horses in 2022, both of which lead all Fourth-Crop sires.
Love in the Air asserted herself right from the start, leading the field through a half-mile in :48.74. Her half-length lead after six furlongs quickly expanded to five lengths in midstretch, and she was all alone in the final furlong to win as she pleased.
Love in the Air came into the Mrs. Penny off a pair of stakes placings, and is now 3-4-3 in 11 starts and has earned $191,331 for Main Line Racing Stable.
The dark bay filly was bred by Blackstone Farm, LLC and originally sold for $280,000 at the 2019 Keeneland September Yearling sale. Her dam was a two-time stakes winner and is from the family of Lykatill Hil, who won a remarkable 13 stakes.
