Laoban, currently second on the First-Crop sire list, got his fourth winner of the past week on Thursday at Los Alamitos with Meetmeincali’s four-length maiden win at 5 1/2-furlongs.
Laoban’s four recent winners were highlighted by Laobanonaprayer’s dominant score in the $250,000 NY Stallion Series S. at Aqueduct. Laoban, who will be new at WinStar Farm for the 2021 season, now has accounted for 12 winners, three black type winners, and the earners of more than $1.5 million.
Meetmeincali and Hot Pursuit battled for the lead for a quarter-mile, when the eventual winner took over for good, then drew off in the stretch to win with something in reserve.
Meetmeincali is owned by Sean Perry and Isidro Tamayo and was bred by McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds LLC.
