Tomlin led throughout Saturday’s $77,250 Camilla Urso S. at Golden Gate Fields, winning the five-furlong turf contest for fillies and mares by 1 1/4-lengths.
Tomlin, a 4-year-old by Distorted Humor, has won 5 of 15 starts and earned $204,700 for owner Tom Bachman’s Fairview LLC. Her prior stakes win came in the Golden Gate Debutante.
Breaking from the inside post in the field of ten, Tomlin was head to head with Red Livy (IRE), who began to fade in upper stretch. The eventual winner spurted clear and maintained her advantage all the way to the wire to stop the clock in :56.10 on the firm turf.
