The 2-year-old colt Quip became Distorted Humor’s newest TDN Rising Star after his dominating performance in Keeneland’s seventh race Thursday, Oct. 19th.
The colt and jockey Florent Geroux went wire-to-wire in the 1 1/16-mile allowance race, never endangering his perfect streak. The pair kicked well clear of the pack at the top of the straight and continued to draw away to win by 6 ½ lengths. (VIDEO)
Quip is now a perfect 2-for-2 with $70,800 in earnings. He was bred by WinStar Farm and is owned in partnership with WinStar, China Horse Club, and SF Racing. He is the first foal out of Princess Ash, is a half-sister to G1 winner Normandy Invasion. The mare has a yearling filly by Speightstown, a weanling full-sister by Distorted Humor, and is carrying a Constitution foal.
Quip gives Distorted Humor his 25th TDN Rising Star, ranking him as the second Northern American sire of lifetime TDN Rising Stars.
