Distorted Humor WinStar KY Cup Distaff (G3) top 3 finishers select stallion seasons

In addition to earning black type, the top three finishers in the $100,000 Distorted Humor WinStar Kentucky Cup Distaff were awarded a stallion season each to one of three WinStar stallions: Colonel John, Hold Me Back, and Super Saver. The promotion was part of the WinStar Kentucky Cup Day,  featuring five stakes races, held at Turfway Park on Sept. 24

The Distaff winner was La Gran Bailadora, and owner Tracy Farmer opted for Colonel John for the winner. The multiple Grade 1 winning stallion won stakes on three surfaces in his career, earning $1.77 million. His first foals arrived this year.

Distaff runner-up Bella Medaglia earned her owner Couteau Grove Farms a season to 2010 Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Super Saver, who entered stud in 2011.

Kiss Mine, third in the Distaff, garnered a season to Hold Me Back for owner Carl Pollard. Hold Me Back won the Grade 2 Lane’s End at Turfway Park in 2009. Like Super Saver, Hold Me Back stood his first season at WinStar in 2011.
