Mot Juste won her stakes debut in fashion with a half-length score in the Oct. 12 Oh So Sharp S. (G3) at Newmarket Racecourse in Great Britain [WATCH RACE].
The 2-year-old Distorted Humor filly is the eighth graded stakes winner this year for her sire, who accounted for last weekend’s Alcibiades S. (G1) with the 2-year-old filly Restless Rider.
The Oh So Sharp was contested at a mile on a straight turf course. Mot Juste tucked in behind horses along the rail in the rather compact field. She held her spot until about a quarter-mile to run, when she shifted to the three path, split horses to assume command, then held off both Angel’s Hideaway and Sunday Star for the win.
“She broke her maiden in good style last time, she really saw the trip out here and won well. It’s a nice step up on what she’s done before,” said jockey William Buick.
Mot Juste, who has two wins in four starts, is owned by her breeder R. Barnett. She is out of the Group 2 winner Time On (GB).
