First-Crop sire Constitution’s large group of juveniles in next week’s OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in Training have been working very well at the Under Tack Show, led by a filly who zipped through a furlong in :09 4/5 seconds during the Thursday session.
Constitution has a total of 33 lots in the catalog for the April 23-26 auction in central Florida.
Hip No. 655, consigned by Bobby Dodd, agent, turned in the sub 10-second breeze. Named Joy’s Rose, the dark bay filly is out of the Empire Maker mare Soot Z, the dam of the stakes-placed winners Gotti and Senatus.
With seven lots sold during the spring 2-year-old auction season, Constitution’s average of $220,286 is a healthy 14 times his stud fee. His personal best this year was a $600,000 colt that sold at the Fasig-Tipton Florida sale in March.
