Alexandria was all alone at the finish of Friday’s $100,000 Queen City Oaks at Belterra Park, winning the 1 1/16-mile contest by 10 3/4-lengths to give the 3-year-old daughter of Constitution her fourth lifetime stakes victory.
Going off the odds-on favorite, Alexandria took the lead with about a half-mile to run and never looked back, widening her lead the rest of the trip while under a hand ride.
Owned by Michael Lewis, along with her breeders Blazing Meadows Farm and WinStar Farm, Alexandria is 5-0-1 in eight starts and has earned $261,945.
Alexandria is out of Spring Water and is a full sister to the 2-year-old Topsy Turvy and has a yearling half-brother by Paynter.
Constitution is currently the leading Third-Crop Sire of 2021 with more than $4 million in progeny earnings and 60 individual winners of 78 races.
