Constitution, the number one First-Crop Sire by earnings and graded stakes winners, got his seventh juvenile winner Thursday at Saratoga by way of Tiz the Law’s snappy 4 1/4-length victory going 6 1/2-furlongs against fellow maiden special weight types.
Content to sit behind a trio of front-runners early on, the eventual winner made up ground on the turn, came four-wide into the stretch and assumed command with a furlong to go, then drew off smartly to win in hand.
Owned by Sackatoga Stable of Funny Cide fame, Tiz the Law picked up $42,900 for the debut victory. Bred by Twin Creeks Farm, Tiz the Law is out of Tizfiz, winner of the San Gorgonio S. (G2) and three other stakes. His fourth dam Evil Elaine is the dam of Horse of the Year Favorite Trick.
Constitution’s first crop has been spectacular on-track, with all seven winners coming in maiden special weights, including a pair of TDN Rising Stars. By Your Side and Amalfi Sunrise have gone on to win the Sanford S. (G3) and Sorrento S. (G2), respectively.
