Led by a $350,000 colt, Constitution was one of the leading sires during Monday’s session of the June 29-30 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Sale of 2-year-olds.
The colt topped off a terrific June for his sire, who was represented by his first classic winner when Tiz the Law triumphed in the Belmont S. (G1). Constitution is easily atop the 2020 Second-Crop sire list with more than $2.5 million in progeny earnings and seven stakes horses to date.
Hip No. 256 was consigned by Golden Rock, agent for Global Thoroughbreds. Charles Zacney and DJ Stable were the winning bidders.
The Kentucky-bred dark bay is out of the Unbridled’s Song mare Sonorous, who has produced seven winners. He dam Sweet Nannette was a multiple stakes winner and also the dam of black type winner Sherriff Cogburn.
