The well-bred 2-year-old filly Skywarn’s impressive maiden special weight victory Sunday at Churchill Downs caught the eyes of the TDN as they tabbed the daughter of Congrats “Rising Star” for her performance.
Congrats ranks in the top 5 on the 2014 Juvenile Sire list in several categories, including stakes horses and earnings.
Sywarn, a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Close Hatches, opened up a three-length lead in mid-stretch in Sunday’s seven furlong affair and held sway to win by about a length on a sloppy racetrack.
The winner is owned by Juddmonte Farms and was bred in Kentucky by Millsec Ltd.
