Campania rallied in deep stretch to break her maiden Dec. 13 at Charles Town Races, becoming the 17th winner for Commissioner. The WinStar stallion has five stakes horses this year, including recent Smooth Air S. winner Soros and the Grade 2-placed Powerfulattraction.
Compania won the seven-furlong maiden special weight on a sloppy main track despite being boxed in much of the way, swinging three-wide in the stretch to win by a half-length (VIDEO).
The winner is owned by Jay Reese and was bred by Schiano Racing Inc. The bay filly is a half-sister to stakes-placed Wolfblade.
