Bright Town cruises in First Lady H.

Bright Town sauntered to an easy 4 ½-length victory in Monday’s $50,000 First Lady H., the second stakes victory in the career of the 5-year-old daughter of Speightstown.

The First Lady is Bright Town’s second stakes win of 2015. She is one of seven stakes winners this year by her sire. A perennial top sire, Speightstown ranks in the top 10 on this year’s General Sire list in earnings, repeat winners, graded stakes winners and stakes wins.

After an early duel with Haveyougoneaway, Bright Town pulled away at the top of the stretch and won going away. The final time for the six furlongs was 1:10.91.

Bright Town was bred in Kentucky by Lochlow Farm and is owned by Tricar Stables. She is out of the Gone West mare Brite Diamond, who is a half-sister to multiple Grade One winner Fowda.
