Kenda stormed home over the Santa Anita Park turf course stretch to break her maiden by 1 1/2-lengths on April 21 (VIDEO).
Kenda is the 11th winner this year from Bodemeister’s second crop of runners. The WinStar stallion is currently ranked second on the Second-Crop Sire list, with his Florida Derby (G1) winner Always Dreaming a leading contender for this year’s Kentucky Derby (G1).
Kenda took control of the 6 1/2-furlong contest on the downhill turf course about half-way through the race, shaking loose in the final furlong to stop the timer in 1:12.90.
The winner is trained by Phil D’Amato for Joey Platt and Jack Simms. She was bred in Kentucky by Mark Stansell and is the first foal out of stakes winner Indian Legend.
