Super Saver’s two lots offered during the first day of the March 15-16 OBS March Sale of Selected Sale of 2-year-olds in Training brought an average of $292,500, including a $300,000 colt.
Consigned by Eddie Woods, agent and cataloged as hip No. 92, the colt went to Ralph Evans. The bay Kentucky-bred is out of the stakes winner Lunargal, who is a half-sister to Astrology as well as stakes winners Lunarpal and Lunarlady.
Hip No. 86, consigned by the McKathan Brothers, went for $285,000 to Martin Schwartz. Also bred in the Bluegrass, the dark bay filly out of the Mineshaft mare Listowel, who is a half-sister to a trio of stakes winners.
Super Saver has one additional offering, hip No. 399, during Thursday’s concluding session of the auction.
