Artie Schiller 2yo tops stakes foes at DP

Hop the Six bounded to a front-running, 3 1/2-length victory in Saturday’s $50,000 White Clay Creek S., marking the first black-type score for the two-year-old filly. Artie Schiller is a world-wide top 5 Fourth Crop sire and has eight stakes horses to date this year.

Hop the Six, an Elkstone Group LLC homebred, left little doubt who was best in the 5 1/2- furlong affair, drawing away outside the quarter pole and cruising in the stretch with little encouragement from her rider Jeremy Rose.

The winner is now 2-1-0 in three starts, racking up a bankroll of $64,000. The Kentucky-bred filly is out of Pulpit Fiction, dam of three multiple winners and comes from the same family as 2-year-old champion War Pass, Grade 1 Spinaway S. winner Oath, and the multiple stakes winner Packet.
