Hit’ Parade Continues for Speightstown

Speightstown ‘s multiple Champion son Essence Hit Man continued his hit parade of stakes victories, winning his 10th career stakes in the $162,000 Bold Venture S. (G3) on July 17 at Woodbine.

Essence Hit Man also earned the 17th stakes victory of this season for Champion Speightstown, who currently reigns as Kentucky’s second leading sire.

In the Bold Venture, 6-year-old Essence Hit Man broke first and never looked back, carving out fractions of :22.21, :44.01 and 1:08.52 en route to a final clocking of 1:15.46 for 6 1/2 furlongs on the all-weather surface.

Canada’s reigning Sprint Champion, Essence Hit Man carried top weight of 124 lbs., and bolstered his record to 27-12-6-3 and earnings of $1,354,331. Bred in Canada by A & G Cappuccitti, Essence Hit Man races for A & G Racing Stable, is trained by Larry Cappuccitti, and was ridden to victory by Jesse Campbell.

Speightstown has already sired 11 stakes winners and earners of $6.8 million this year. From just five crops to race, he has sired 46 stakes winners and earners of over $40 million.
