Harlan’s Holiday 3YO Runs Big in G3 Hill Prince

Repole Stables Notacatbutallama battled his way to his first Graded stakes victory today, in the $150,000 Hill Prince S. (G3) at Belmont Park.

The 3-year-old son of Harlan’s Holiday, a multiple New York stakes winner as a juvenile, became the 7th stakes winner of the year for his sire, who has current Graded stakes winners on dirt, turf, and all-weather surfaces.

Sent off at 9-2 by the Belmont faithful, Notacatbutallama charged up four-wide at the top of the lane under John Velazquez, then gave everything he had in outfinishing runner-up Play It Loud. Final time was a very good 1:34.82 for the mile event over the turf.

Notacatbutallama was purchased for $105,000 from the 2012 OBS April Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training, and has now amassed a record of 10-4-3-1 and $308,334 under trainer Todd Pletcher. Bred in New York by Happy Hill Farm, he is out of a stakes mare by Hansel, and his next two dams are both multiple stakes producers.

Harlan’s Holiday has sired 19 stakes horses and earners of more than $3.4 million this year, and ranks among the nation’s top 10 Sires.
