Fast 4yo gives Bluegrass Cat 4 SWs in 2013

Go Blue Or Go Home, a talented 4-year-old son of Bluegrass Cat, stepped up and earned his first career stakes victory on Monday, putting his impressive speed on display to score a handy, two-length win in the $100,000 Karl Boyes Memorial H. at Presque Isle Downs. The win marked leading New York sire Bluegrass Cat’s fourth stakes winner of 2013.

For Go Blue Or Go Home, he kept an unbeaten record from four starts at sprint distances, including fast wins on both turf and the main track. His win in the Boyes Memorial came in his seasonal debut, and it sets the table for a promising second half of the year for a rising 4-year-old sprinter. His final time on Monday was 1:03.42 for the 5 ½ furlongs.

Trained by Reade Baker, Go Blue Or Go Home boosted his earnings to $159,624 for owners Jim and Susan Hill, who purchased the 4-year-old as a weanling for $90,000 at Keeneland November from breeders Morgan’s Ford Farm and WinStar Farm. He is out of the stakes-winning and multiple stakes-producing Irish mare Go Baby Go (Ire), by Lion Cavern.

Bluegrass Cat currently sits firmly atop the New York General Sires list with more than $2.3 million in progeny earnings in 2013.
