Schillerthekiller slays stakes field

Artie Schiller sired the 11th stakes winner from his first two crops, when Schillerthekiller slew the field in the Free Press Stakes on June 17.

Schillerthekiller took charge under a full head of steam coming out of the far turn, and poured it on through the stretch, to win going away by 2 1/4 lengths. With the victory, Schillerthekiller remained undefeated in three starts at six furlongs this season, and boosted his 2011/2012 record to 5 wins in 10 starts.

Out of juvenile stakes filly Fantast, by Luhuk, Schillerthekiller was bred in Kentucky by Paul Tackett and Charlie Biancke, and sold at the Keeneland September Sale to Paul Schaffer. He has three wins in five starts this year for Evenstad and Schaffer Racing.

El Prado’s leading this crop son, Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) champion Artie Schiller (by El Prado – Hidden Light, by Majestic Light) stands at WinStar for $10,000.
