FT sale: Top 5 seller for Distorted Humor

A filly by Distorted Humor brought plenty of interest at the May 21-22 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic sale of 2-year-olds in training, bringing a final bid of $310,000 from Steve Young, agent. The price was the fifth-highest overall, and second-best for a filly, at the sale.

Cataloged as hip No. 417 and consigned by Kings Equine agent, the unnamed bay filly is a half-sister to Creative Cause, winner of last year’s Grade 1 Norfolk S. and the 2012 San Felipe (G2) and third in last weekend’s Preakness S. (G1). Their dam Dream of Summer won nearly $1.2 million and four graded stakes, topped by the Apple Blossom H. (G1).

Distorted Humor, the nation’s leading sire in 2011, is in the top 10 once again this year, and his son Flower Alley leads all sires currently standing in North America on the earnings list.
