Rushing Fall caps illustrious career with Eclipse Award win

More Than Ready’s brilliant mare Rushing Fall earned her first Eclipse Award during Thursday’s virtual ceremony when she was named Champion Turf Female over worthy finalists Audarya and Tarnawa.

The now-retired 6-year-old was in peak form once again in 2020, winning the Diana S. (G1), Jenny Wiley S. (G1) for the second straight year, and the Beaugay S. (G1). She missed out on an undefeated season by just a neck in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf (G1).

Rushing Fall was nearly unbeatable in four years while racing at the highest level, capturing Grade 1s in each campaign. She finished her career with a mark of 11-3-0 in 15 starts, earning $2,893,000.

Owned by e Five Racing Thoroughbreds, Rushing Fall sold for $320,000 at the 2016 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Yearlings sale. She was bred by Fred Hertrich III and John D. Fielding. 

More Than Ready had a stellar 2020 as well, with his progeny earning nearly $7 million and accounting for a dozen stakes wins. With 207 black type winners worldwide to date, he is ranks fourth all-time by stakes winners.
