Outwork is now the sire of the winners of 20 races from his first crop of runners after R Working Girl won her first lifetime start on Dec. 20 at Aqueduct (VIDEO).
The 2-year-old filly was first at every call in the six furlong madien special weight race, taking the lead in the first eighth of a mile and digging in gamely late to hold off Maracuja to win by neck for trainer Wesley Ward.
The bay filly is owned by Averill Racing LLC and was bred in Kentucky by Phoenix Farm and Ramiro Salazar. She sold to her owner for $100,000 at the 2019 Keeneland September Yearling sale. R Working Girl’s dam Collar is also responsible for the 2-year-old stakes winner Ardmore Bay.
Outwork has sired 19 winners to date, with three coming in the past week, giving him the second-most among all freshman sires.
