Abrogate rolled to a six-length maiden special weight debut win Thursday at Churchill Downs to become Outwork’s 13th overall winner from his first crop.
Currently a top-five First-Crop sire in several categories, Outwork has had three winners this month, as well as accounted for Outadore, the third-place finisher in the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1).
Abrogate came out of the gate running and opened a two-length lead in the first furlong. She got some heavy pressure from Zoom Up on the turn, but shook off her foe easily in upper stretch and drew away very impressively to finish the distance in 1:10.53 on a fast track (VIDEO).
Abrogate was purchased by her owners Alex and JoAnn Lieblong for $270,000 out of the 2019 Keeneland September Yearling sale. She was bred in Kentucky by Sandra Sexton and Silver Fern Farm and if from the same family as Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) winner Big Drama and three-time Grade 1 winner Sheer Drama.
