Speightstown’s 3-year-old colt Nashville turned in another spectacular performance Saturday at Keeneland, winning a six-furlong allowance race by 9 3/4-lengths, his second blow out win in as many starts.
After winning his Sept. 2 debut at Saratoga by 11 1/2-lengths, the bay colt was named a TDN Rising Star. He backed that tag up with authority on Saturday, seizing command right at the outset and never relenting. The margin was six lengths after a half-mile, and he widened in the stretch.
Nashville’s final time of 1:09.10 is the fastest six furlongs of the meet to date and earned him a Beyer Speed Figure of 101, on par with what graded stakes winners earn.
Nashville is owned by CHC Inc. and WinStar Farm LLC, who purchased the colt for $460,000 at the 2018 Keeneland September Yearling sale. He was bred in Kentucky by Breffni Farm and is from the family of 2005 Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Giacomo.
