Alaskan Queen won the stretch battle over Freccia Rosa by one length to win the Polla de Pontrancas (G1) in Santiago, Chile on Sunday, giving Constitution a second Grade 1 winner to go along with leading 3-year-old and Classic winner Tiz the Law.
Constitution is atop the Second-Crop sire list with just over $5 million in progeny earnings and has accounted for 11 stakes horses this year.
Alaskan Queen is owned by her breeder Haras Don Alberto and is perfect in her two starts to date. Sunday’s win was the first stakes outing for the southern hemisphere 3-year-old.
Alaskan Queen’s second dam is a half-sister to Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1) winner Arcangues.
