Speightstown’s latest stakes winner King of the Court made it three wins in a row with a victory in the Sept. 17 HBPA Stakes at Canterbury Park.
Speightstown is having one of his best seasons at stud in recent years, currently ranked second on the General Sire list with progeny earnings of more than $8.5 million and tied for the top spot with five Grade 1 horses.
King of the Court won the six-furlong race by a half-length in a swift 1:09.23 on the fast main track.
With the victory, the chestnut 5-year-old upped his record to 6-5-3 from 25 starts, with earnings of $213,859 for owners Gary Kropp and Clayton & Rick Wiest.
Bred in Kentucky by Bruce Lunsford and Hill ‘n’ Dale Farm, King of the Court is out of Divine Escapade, the half-sister to Grade 1 winner Mi Sueno and out of millionaire Madcap Escapade.
